Welcome to Read Thai in 2 Weeks!
Here’s What to Expect:
💡 Frustration is Part of Learning
Some sounds might feel impossible at first. You’ll probably click on two different sounds and swear they’re identical. TRY not to panic—this is completely normal. Your brain just needs time to process sounds it’s never noticed before.
🚀 Progress Happens Gradually as You Practice
One fascinating thing about learning new sounds is this: once you can produce a tricky sound yourself, your ear will suddenly start to pick it out from everything else. That’s when things really start to click.
⏸ When It Gets Tough, Take a Break
If something isn’t clicking after a few tries and you’re feeling overwhelmed, step back. Spend the rest of your study session reviewing earlier material. Then try again later—or tomorrow.
🛤️ Your Path to Success
You don’t need to be a genius or a “language person” to learn Thai. What you do need is a bit of discipline and a consistent routine. Stick with it, and you’ll be reading and speaking Thai before you know it.
⚡ Follow the Process (Seriously, It Matters)
The order of the lessons is extremely important. As you progress, we gradually build your knowledge base with the assumption that you are familiar with what has come before.
If you skip ahead or bounce around, you are more likely to get confused.
🔁 Practice, Review, Repeat
- Revisit Lessons: Even the easy ones. A quick review 2-3 days later helps solidify what you’ve learned.
- Do the Drills More Than Once: The more you practice, the faster concepts will click.
🎉 What Happens at the End?
By the time you are nearing the end of this first course, you should be able to sound out nearly any Thai word and work out what tone it should be.
Here’s an example of three words that might sound identical to you right now—but in just a week or two, you’ll know how and why they’re different. Even better, you’ll actually start to hear the difference.
⚡ Your Pace, Your Progress
- Overwhelmed? It's okay to let it go for today and do some review instead.
- Feeling solid? Keep moving forward, but revisit past lessons every couple of days.
- Aim for steady momentum, not speed. It’s normal for some lessons to take longer than others. Some sounds or concepts will click quickly while others may require a few sessions.
